I talked to some of you and got good response constantly. I guess it´s time to write it in public.
Well, this Idea was born cause I miss a destructive element and the down repping of some players.
What do you think, if we split the rep in 2 stats? Let me explain.
The first part contains the rep which the player gets by upgrading the HW and the SW.
We can call it basic or equipment Reputation.
The second part increases, if the player uses his skill and hack other players. I prefer to call it Skill Reputation.
Srep is all the rep he earns if he finishes a mission, loots a miner and buy SW too. To buy SW gives you x Rep for both. An algo increases Erep only.
If a player loses some Rep in any case, the Srep will be reduced only. The player reaches 0 Srep at a certain point and get attacked again. In that situation the player will lose Erep and now the big change. One of his sw stats will be reduced randomly.
Of course we will have a safe zone for the beginners. How high, that is the point to think about or better to calculate it. Just a feeling right now 2k rep around i would say. If a player reaches this point, he will not be able to lose Rep anymore. So he hasn´t to start at ZERO. *laugh*
Let´s have a look on the basis of an example.
To handle it a bit easier we assum all HW is 500 Erep and every SW give you 2 more Erep.
The player has HW maxed (500 Erep) and all SW at 5.0 (8 * 50 * 2= 800 Erep). Without any Srep he has a shown amount of 1.300 Rep in the final ranking.
If an other player with 1k rep attacks him and loots the miner, the victim loses 2 rep. Cause he has no Srep and cause the SW is direct conected to the Erep, he will lose 0,1 of a SW randomly.
If he has 1 Srep, he will lose 0,1 but has 1 Srep left.
*This is just an example. That player is still in protection zone. It´s to keep the numbers at a low level and easy to understand.*
The Jammer would force all players to act carefully, like real hackers or the might lose some apps, packages, Rep and/or SW.
The ranking will show the sum of both as one Reputation.
The guild.app can show it for guild stuff.
This changes will result in real battles, guild fights and the ranking shows a somehow realer overview and not that, sorry, fake numbers.
The good guilds will establish classes and only accept players with a specialisation that fits into their tactical plans. The benefit for all and exspecially for Dev is, all are battling eachother and no more crying like, "it´s boring...always miner grinding...."
Benefits:
- We don´t have to change the mechanism itsself, I like it and the limits really fits to my mind.
- The direct connected SW will definitely avoid the down repping, cause they will lose their SW.
- New players know who might have a good SW and who have not.
- Real guild battles can start to get some special players down.. I MEAN REAL DOWN
- New events possible with additional tasks for you and your guild and/or all others.
I am pretty sure most of you are able to assume some more effects.
